Abstract
The current paper lays out the conception of quality that is the guide of the Philosophy and Humanities Faculty. In order to do so, in the first place is made an exposition that starts from the concept of excellence in as much it is the main expression of the virtue, and from which the philosophy understands the concept of quality, pointing out the subsidiary character of the philosophy in relation to the excellence. Then, the three mediations through which take shape quality in the faculty are explained: investigation, teaching, and New Technologies. The combination and interaction of these three mediations reach its fullness in the actions of extension and social projection, whereas those actions must be the transforming impact of the complex problems of the Colombian society.
